River Crossing Church, Jackson, Wyoming   7 comments

Here are a couple of responses to two emails that I received in the past couple of days:
-
Dear Sawman1960:
-
I am looking for information on how to get in touch with Tim Shey. I have an interest in the River Crossing church in JHW [Jackson Hole, Wyoming] and have read much of what Mr. Shey wrote on his blogsite about the recent OSA [Operation Save America] demonstrations there and his dreams about Mike Atkins and would like to ask some questions as it seems Mr. Shey knows Mike Atkins. I have concerns about Mike Atkins and River Crossing.  Are you Tim Shey?
-
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you and God bless you.

Yes, I am Tim Shey (Sawman).  I went to church at River Crossing (it was called Jackson Hole Christian Center at the time) three times back in 2003 and the Lord chastened me for being there.  It seemed like a worldly church.  I later had a dream from the Lord warning me about Mike Atkins and River Crossing Church.  I had some friends that quit going to that church, also.
-
I really don’t know Mike Atkins–I met him once.  I knew his daughter a little before she got married–she seemed very worldly.  The people that I know that dealt with Mike Atkins thinks that he is a con artist.  The Lord showed me in a dream that River Crossing is apostate.  There might be a few people in that church who may be saved, but I would guess that they are shallow Christians.

Hello Tim:
-
Thank you for your response. I attended Jackson Hole Christian Center periodically from 2000 – 2004 then full time from 2006 – 2010 and then part time during 2011. I have several friends there and until September 2011, I had a strong appreciation for Pastor Mike. However, in September of 2011, I entered the church with a friend one Sunday (Pastor Mike was away) and the young assistant pastor, Mike Evans, was speaking that day. In my spirit I had such a strong sense of sensuality in the church, I felt I needed to leave. Even though I saw a couple of people leave, I stayed that day but late that evening, and throughout the night I wrote to the young men a long letter of concern about the behavior I felt in the spirit that day. Since January 2011, several of us have had some major concerns about things we have seen and experienced in the spirit regarding River Crossing – especially the urgent and immediate dismissal of the minister of music whom so many of us loved.

I have read a great deal about you on your site, and I must admit that I agree with more than 95 percent of your comments, and I also believe Christians are to speak out for the innocent and the defenseless. However, I am a little concerned about your comments regarding Pastor Gary [Pilcher] and the Assemblies of God Church in Iowa. I believe those comments are a little strong but that is between you and him.
-
Primarily you seem like a man who hears from the Lord, but I would like to know more about your history; your conversion, and why you are not in full time ministry. And I would like to know more about why you are so strong against Mike Atkins – what you believe God showed you about the church.  In March of this year I had just about decided to not return to River Crossing and then after reading the news of happenings during the recent OSA anti-abortion demonstrations in May I am confident I will have to find another church in Jackson when I return there.
-
Can you recommend a Godly spirit filled church in Jackson and are you comfortable telling me the names of your friends who left the church? What is your present connection to Jackson Hole, and are you there often? Have you considered a ministry there or anywhere else? Do you know who the woman is who practices witchcraft and still attends RC, and if so will you give me her name?  She was mentioned in Mark Holick’s letter to Jackson Hole News and Guide, and then today, I spoke with a friend who now lives in KC MO, but who attended JHCC for four years through 2009. She confirmed to me today that she was aware then of a woman who practiced witchcraft and attended the church. I think it is horrific that Mike has not asked her to leave the church especially since I personally saw him escort three men from the building last year who he said were  involved in an occult.

Several of us, one being the person I am cc’ing, are trying to get some clear cut answers to the problems and inconsistencies we see there;  she is a friend of mine who is working with me to hear from God about River Crossing.

Thanks so much for your input…
Blessings,
Mary

I am in full-time ministry.  The Lord has me on the road–I have been hitchhiking the United States for most of 16 years.  My life of obedience to the Lord is the sermon.  The Lord led me out of going to church on Sunday back in 1991.  The Lord had me start my two blogs and the Lord told me to write two books.  Part of my ministry are my writings; I have excellent fellowship with the people I communicate with on my blogs.
-
I am very prophetic and the Lord gives me prophetic dreams.  I know I had the one dream about Mike Atkins and a friend of mine, who used to go to River Crossing, had a few dreams warning her about Mike Atkins.  Mrs. Atkins has a Jezebel spirit.
-
Here is a good Scripture to meditate on:  “Come out from among them and be ye separate.”  Maybe you shouldn’t be so concerned about understanding wicked people in certain churches; separate yourself from them and follow the Lord–this would be an act of faith and obedience.  It never ceases to amaze me how so many people think that going to church on Sunday is so important when most of the churches in the United States are so dead and worldly.  That’s why we have the devil in the White House (Obama).

One of the reasons why Eve got in trouble and enticed Adam into sin was that she was curious about the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and wanted to understand the evil thereof. All she had to do was obey the Lord and stay away from that tree. And, of course, her covering, Adam, was passive and did not aggressively protect his wife from that tree–that’s why it is called Adam’s Sin, not Eve’s Sin. Eve was the weaker vessel (as are all women)–that is why she was more susceptible to the snares and lies of Satan than Adam. That is why we had the rise of Satanic feminism in the 1960s and legalized abortion in the United States in 1973.Beware of anyone who asks, “Hath God said?”Genesis 3: 1: “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”

Shiloh
By Tim Shey

Brutal deathdance;
My eyes weep blood.
Pharisees smile like vipers,
They laugh and mock their venom:
Blind snakes leading
The deaf and dumb multitude.

Where are my friends?
The landscape is dry and desolate.
They have stretched my shredded body
On this humiliating tree.

The hands that healed
And the feet that brought good news
They have pierced
With their fierce hatred.

The man-made whip
That opened up my back
Preaches from a proper pulpit.
They sit in comfort:
That vacant-eyed congregation.
The respected, demon-possessed reverend
Forks his tongue
Scratching itchy ears
While Cain bludgeons
Abel into silence.

My flesh in tattered pieces
Clots red and cold and sticks
To the rough-hewn timber
That props up my limp, vertical carcase
Between heaven and earth.
My life drips and puddles
Below my feet,
As I gaze down dizzily
On merciless eyes and dagger teeth.

The chapter-and-versed wolves
Jeer and taunt me.
Their sheepwool clothing
Is stained black with the furious violence
Of their heart of stone.
They worship me in lip service,
But I confess,
I never knew them
(Though they are my creation).

My tongue tastes like ashes:
It sticks to the roof of my mouth.
I am so thirsty.
This famine is too much for me.
The bulls of Bashan have bled me white.
Papa, into your hands
I commend my Spirit.

“The fact is that, we are not producing saints. We are making converts to an effete type of Christianity, that bears little resemblance to that of the New Testament. The average so-called Bible Christian of our times is but a shallow display of true sainthood. Yet, we put millions of dollars behind ‘movements’ to perpetuate this lower form of religion and attack the man who dares to challenge the wisdom of it.”

  2. I have attended River crossing and believe there is a very deep lying spirit and a lack of seeking the truth. The Celebrate Recovery leaders have lied endlessly and caused great harm to many people. ….. “they strain out a gnat and swallow a camel” “white washed walls” “their hearts are so far from Jesus —- …. beware — beware beware……every church has sinners, secret sin and people who don’t even know they are in sin. These I would never worry about… .be more concerned about the religious leaders who take no responsibility, do not deal with their own hearts… cannot see their sin…. point fingers at the poor and needy… how will they escape judgement…. … self righteous hypocrites…. ….. and lies. The leaders do not seek the truth there…. sadly – without Eddie — it has grown perverted and twisted….. sadly

  3. Have you ever seen a place called a church that’s hates and slanders the poor and innocent, yet protects the rich and the ruthless…. welcome to River Crossing. The inside politics of this establishment are more than frightening. A church simulation, the initial visitor may be impressed but in the long run it’s mostly “cotton candy” nothing of substantial worth here. Come to be entertained, come to be shallow, come to hear “what your itchy ears want to hear” — but if you want Biblical teaching… do not come here……

  4. Natalie: Thank you very much for your comment. River Crossing is apostate. Mike Atkins’ wife has a Jezebel spirit. People need to be warned.

  5. Hi Tim:
Mike Atkins writing again…can’t help but notice that my comments didn’t make it through your editorial process. I’d like to request a meeting with you. You have my email address. I come to you as a brother in Christ in agreement with Matthew 18. You have never met me but you have chosen to condemn me as a false follower of the Lord I’ve spent my life loving, serving and worshipping. If, after you’ve met with me you chose to continue your campaign against me and the 350 other people who worship and seek to honor Christ with their lives at River Crossing then I’ll leave it to the Lord to judge…will you meet with me? In Christ…Mike Atkins

  6. Mike: No, I really don’t want to meet you. And this is hardly a campaign against you and River Crossing Church. I have only posted what the Lord has shown me concerning you and River Crossing Church. I posted this back in September of 2012 and the Lord has never told me to delete it.

Matthew 7: 21-23: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

  7. Tim Shey, I have only recently come across your sight and found these comments that you and other contributors have made concerning Mike Atkins and River Crossing Church. I have not been to the beautiful land of God’s creation known as Jackson Hole, and therefore I have never been to the River Crossing Church. Nonetheless, many years ago I served in a small church named Pine Grove Worship Center in the mountains of North Carolina. For a time I was the worship leader and Mike Atkins was the pastor. No doubt there were things we differed on but we always went to the Word to be the mediator of those differences. I am not writing to debate, nor judge the condition of Mike Atkins, nor his wife Patti’s soul, but just as there are those that profess to surely know he is “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”, I would like to say that I too have known the man and his wife and he is a man after God’s own heart. In fairness I will confess that I have not stayed personally in touch with Mike or Patti, but beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ that I know intimately, and have known for many years do stay in close fellowship. Knowing them and their spirit’s, their discernment and the calling upon their lives, reassures me that the Pastor I once served under and his wife are still very much two people who have given their lives in service to our lord, and their hearts continue to seek His truth. No doubt we are all imperfect vessels and see through a glass dimly, but our Lord judges the heart of man and He alone knows the inner chambers of the heart.
Again, I have no desire to create nor enter a debate concerning Mike Atkins and River Crossing. I also have no reason to question your love and devotion to our Lord and His truth, but I am troubled by your response to Mike’s request to meet with you face to face, in agreement with Matthew 18.
I apologize if it offends you to say that your response comes across arrogant and self righteous. It would seem to me that if indeed you feel so strongly concerning Mike and the many brothers and sisters that attend his church, that for love’s sake you would desire the opportunity to speak truth into the situation, and you would welcome the opportunity for the Holy Spirit to further confirm (witness) to that which you are saying…I have no doubt that should you find yourself in error you would desire to surrender to that correction as well. So my question would be; what do you fear and on what grounds would you refuse a sincere and open invitation to sit down as brothers and allow the Holy Spirit and the Living Word of God be the Mediator?
