Ah Sinful Nation, A People Laden With Iniquity   4 comments

Isaiah 1: 2-7:  “Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.  The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.  Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.  Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.  From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.  Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.”
Isaiah 1: 28-31:  “And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.  For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.  For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.  And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.”

  1. My pastor has been preaching through Isaiah. He explained how we must recognize that God is angry with each of us and that anger will either cause us to be consumed by his wrath in the end or purified day by day into to image of His Son…depending on what we do with Jesus. Thank God we have the cross which offers grace and mercy to we who are the worst of sinners.

  2. Lori: Amen. We can reject Christ and suffer the consequences and be consumed by His wrath or we can surrender our lives to Christ and be purified of our sin.

Hebrews 12: 29: “For our God is a consuming fire.”

The reason why I posted these verses from Isaiah is that the United States is promoting homosexual marriage, we are still murdering pre-born babies and Obama is in Israel: looks like a good combination for the wrath of God to fall on the United States. I really believe that the United States is past repentance and that God’s mercy has run out on this wicked country.

  3. Tim, so many times the verses I am lead to read in the morning are the same ones you post on your website. Father is teaching me to hear His voice, it is wonderful to see confirmations like this. I wholeheartedly agree with you, the message as I read it this morning is for America as a nation. Corporate cover, whether it be a church or a nation, is no longer being provided; it is now time for individuals to come to Him personally. Thank you for your obedience, Tim! Father is using you in a wonderful way!

  4. Kim: Thank you for your comment and for the confirmation on the verses from Isaiah. Destruction from the Lord has to be coming to America because there is so much sin in this nation.

If you want to read an incredible account of God’s perfect timing and confirmation, then read this:

Back to the verses from Chapter 1 in Isaiah. I sat down to read the Bible last night with the plan that I would read a few chapters or several chapters from Isaiah and then read something from the New Testament. I read the first ten verses of Isaiah Chapter 1 and it hit me like a ton of bricks. All I could read was the first chapter—it really bore witness with my spirit. Sometimes you can read one verse and then the Lord really burns it into your spirit.

I John 2: 27: “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”
