California’s Culture of Death   2 comments

This is from the blog Fellowship of the Minds:

Last Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, California Governor Jerry Brown signed ABX2-15, the End of Life Option Act, thereby making lawful “physician-assisted suicide” — the politically-palatable name for euthanasia. (See “California legalizes euthanasia“)

A day after euthanasia became legal, KPBS reports that a group called Seniors Against Suicide (SAS) filed papers to place a referendum to repeal the law on next year’s ballot. SAS has only 90 days to collect the signatures of 365,880 registered voters.

The referendum effort faces steep obstacles, if we go by the results of the latest Field Poll.

Released a day after Brown signed ABX2-15 into law, the statewide poll of 1,002 registered voters found broad voter support for the End of Life Option Act:

  • 2 in 3 voters in the poll (65%) favor the new law; only 27% are opposed.
  • Support is broad-based, spanning nearly all major subgroups of the state’s voting population:
    • Groups giving the law the strongest support – 70% or more in favor – are liberals, Democrats, non-partisan Independents, white non-Hispanics, those with no religious preference, and non-Christian religions.
    • Majorities of Protestants, Catholics, and registered Republicans also support the new euthanasia law.
  • Political conservatives and born-again Christians are least likely to support the bill.
  • 71% of those polled favor a more generic question about euthanasia — allowing terminally ill patients the right to ask for and
    get life-ending medication.

The Netherlands and Belgium show how physician-assisted suicide can be and is being abused, resulting in doctors killing people who are not terminally-ill, including the elderly, the young, the mentally ill, and babies. See:

California Wildfires and God’s Protection   7 comments

The Drought and Wildfires in California are God’s Wrath on Sin

This past Friday (11 September) I hitchhiked from Kooskia to Grangeville, Idaho.  I went to the library to check my two blogs and my email.  I got an email from a friend; she and her family live near Jackson, California.  Here is her email:

Please pray for us

Hi Tim,

Would you please pray for me and our family?

Our house is being used as one of the staging areas to fight the Butte Fire here in California.

Please pray that our house will not catch on fire, that our chickens will be o.k., and that we will be healthy and strong, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

We have claimed in the name of Jesus that the wind would shift away from our house, and low and behold, it did. (Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!) We are now claiming that our house will remain untouched by the fire.

It is written:

If you live in Me,

And My words live in you,

You may ask me for anything in My name

And you will receive it,

In order to give glory to the father

And in order that your joy would be full

(John 15:7-8, John 16: 23-24)

There are some people who are unbelievers, who have heard our claims, and are now watching to see what happens. I pray that they would become believers as they see His perfect word come true!

Please also pray for the firefighters and those in the path of this fire.

Thank you for standing with me in the gap,

C. Dunamis

My reply:

Yes, I will pray for the safety of your family and your property.  I believe the Lord will protect you in this fire.

This must be God’s perfect timing.  I hitchhiked from Hamilton, Montana to Kooskia, Idaho yesterday.  About a month ago, a big fire burned down 50 homes in the Kamiah, Idaho area (7 miles from Kooskia).  I camped out in the town park near the river in Kooskia last night; there were all of these firefighter tents in the park—it is a base of operations for the local fires that hit the area this past month or so.  So your email is perfect timing.

I hitchhiked through here around two weeks ago and this Christian lady picked me up; she went to a church near Kamiah.  They prayed over these Christian homes that were in the path of the fire and the fire stopped burning before it came near the houses—and there was plenty of dry fuel on the ground for the fire to burn.  Praise the Lord!

Pray Psalm 91 for your family and your house.

Right now I am in Grangeville, Idaho.  I will head south after I leave the library.  Take care.

Here is another email I received earlier today from Dunamis:

Thank you very much Tim!

Yes, the timing is interesting.

There is another believer in our subdivision just a house or two away from us. Her house has also been spared. She is a strong believer and blesses her land. She also claimed as our family did, that the winds would shift, and the fire would not touch them. There are two homes in between us. All the other ones have been burnt down. The fire came back around later and got the other ones on the other side of us. I feel like going up to those who own the homes in between us, and telling them that the only reason they still have their homes, is because they were built in between two believers!

At least 400 more houses have been destroyed by California’s unrelenting wildfires, and that’s just the beginning

By Curtis Skinner, Reuters

At least 400 homes and hundreds of other buildings have gone up in flames and one person has been killed in a Northern California wildfire that ranks as the most destructive this summer in the U.S. West, officials said on Monday.

The so-called Valley Fire, which erupted Saturday afternoon and spread quickly to a cluster of small communities in the hills and valleys north of the Napa County’s wine-producing region, has also displaced thousands of residents under expanded evacuations.

By Monday morning the blaze had devoured about 61,000 acres (24,690 hectares) of tinder-dry forests, brush and grasslands, and was only about 5 percent contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire).

California: The Great American Wasteland   4 comments

Drought is because of sin

Recently I read in a news article that the State of California is going to force Christian churches to pay for abortions.  Because of the sins of abortion, homosexuality and earth worship, the Lord is turning California into a wasteland:  look at the severe drought in California.
To the California Culture of Death:  if you want to worship the god of death (Satan), then the Lord will bring death to your doorstep.
Psalm 106: 37-42:  “Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan:  and the land was polluted with blood. Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance. And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them. Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.”

California Drought   14 comments

The severe drought in California is God’s wrath on sin:  the sins of abortion, homosexuality, earth worship and other sins.  California also has its fair share of evangellyfish Christians.

I Kings 17: 1:  “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”

Jeremiah 14: 1-7:  “The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth.  Judah mourneth and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.  And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters:  they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.  Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowman were ashamed, they covered their heads.  Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass.  And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.  O, LORD, though our iniquites testify against us, do thou it for thy name’s sake:  for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.”

For those who promote the sin of homosexuality by teaching it to children in public schools:

Luke 17: 2:  “It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.” Hollywood also loves to promote the sin of homosexuality through TV programs and films.

Brian’s Dream about the United States and Africa   28 comments

19 April 2014

Yesterday I got a ride from Challis, Idaho to Lolo, Montana with a guy named Brian.  He was a Christian and we had some really good fellowship.  Brian had just left California a few days before he picked me up.  He said that the drought is really bad where he was at in central California.  The Lord told Brian to leave California and go to Montana.  I told Brian that the drought is only going to get worse in parts of the United States because too many people have turned their backs on God.

Then Brian told me of a dream he had a while back concerning the drought:

In his dream, Brian saw this combine in a corn field where half the field was mowed down.  He walked up to this corn stock and looked inside the husk and it was empty.  Then he saw these two men with long black hair and beards and they were pulling at their hair and crying out, “Africa, feed us!”

In the last scene of the dream, Brian saw this combine in Africa.  The combine was then converted into a war machine.  Brian then saw these African troops going to Asia.

In the first part of Brian’s dream, the drought could be literal where people are starving for physical food.  Or else it could be a spiritual drought:  people are hungry for the Word of God—Jesus Christ, the Bread from Heaven.  Maybe the Lord will send more African Christians to the United States to preach to a people that are hungry for God.

On The Road Again . . .   10 comments

“On The Road Again” by Susanne Van Hulst

Today I did my first hitchhiking in six months.  I was north of Alturas, California on U.S. 395 when this Christian truck driver named Chuck pulled over and gave me a ride to Lakeview, Oregon.  We had a great talk about hitchhiking and the things of God.  Chuck did a lot of hitchhiking years ago after he got out of the Army.  He was originally from upstate New York and now lives in western Washington.

It was great to be off the road for six months.  That is the longest time off the road since 1997-1998 when I was off the road for eleven months—I was working construction back in Ames, Iowa.  For the past several months, I helped my friends work cattle, brand cattle, rake leaves, prune trees and other clean up work on their property and I did a lot of reading on the Internet.  So it was time well spent.

It thunder stormed last evening with some intense rain and hail.  There has been some scattered showers today.  I really like the Warner Mountains and the Surprise Valley in northern California—it is also called the California Outback.

Looks like I will head north and maybe towards Montana.
