Defining Sin   7 comments

American-Christian-Nation

This is from the blog Real Christianity:

THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY

Isn’t America supposed to be a Christian nation? If so, whoever wants to blame the government, lobbyists, political parties, and the great money powers as the cause of our current state is barking up the wrong trees. These entities merely stepped into a void that was created when American Christians vacated their place of responsibility. I’ve been saying this for decades and have been getting slammed by Christians for decades for saying it. I have now noticed that others are saying it. It’s about time.

The facts are clear. There is only one responsible party for America’s decline:  Christians and the ministers they choose. Which Christians are most guilty? The Lord said this:

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.” [Luke 12:48]

THE ELITE

There is no doubt there is an evil elite in this world that possesses great power. Its members are in the process of finalizing the one-world globalist government of the Last Days as prophesied in Holy Writ. This structure is enveloped with a false and deceptive surface light but contains an inner core of pure darkness.

Real Christians are the only ones who can possibly possess the spiritual power to overcome this powerful darkness. There are very popular and powerful ministers in this country with GIANT platforms but they almost never use them for the right reasons, such as revealing the devil and defining sin. Could it be they never would have achieved their great success had they used their platforms properly?

THIS COULD WORK!

Here’s a suggestion:

Make a list of the top 50 influential Christian leaders in America—those who are extremely influential, wealthy, and well-connected—including mega pastors, Christian television personalities, and ministers of any denomination. Suggest strongly that they start DEFINING SIN specifically and speaking out very powerfully against sin, including the very worst sins such as abortion. Suggest they do this every single time they speak in public ministry, at churches, at conferences, on television, on radio, on the internet, and out in public. Suggest they begin using their tremendous wealth, influence, advantage, and giant platforms to teach other Christians to do the same.

I guarantee you things would start turning around. It wouldn’t take long. Though there would be a tremendous backlash from the forces of evil in the beginning and some of these people would get powerfully slammed, people in this country would start getting convicted. They would start repenting of their sin. They would start receiving what their souls have been crying out for:

(1) Discovering what sin is

(2) Discovering the sins they are guilty of and have on their account

(3) Discovering the great power sin has over them

(4) Discovering the way to be released from the power of sin and be free

The real Gospel would then start doing the work it was designed to do. Light would shine. Darkness would flee. America would change. The Great Awakening would begin coming forth in great mighty waves. This is exactly what happened when the Lord Jesus came. A Great Powerful Awakening took place in the land of darkness and the shadow of death! But what also happened?

He got crucified.

REAL CHRISTIANS

So now you know why the suggested Big 50 will never take our suggestion, even though a few of them have already been unjustifiably maligned by anti-Christian enemies. The simple fact is that there is not a Stephen among them. They are nothing more than members of a Christian elite with their own personal agendas. The American Great Awakening, therefore, is dependent on the kind of people Paul defined in the following passage.

It is dependent upon YOU.

For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God. [1Corinthians 1:26-29] [1]

Real Christianity—The Nature of the Church

__________

Here is the comment I left on R.J. Dawson’s blog:

“Absolutely positively Amen.

“I have a couple of Christian friends in Jackson, Wyoming. I met them while I was hitchhiking through Jackson back in 2003. I have asked them and I have asked the Lord why the Lord has had me hitchhike through Jackson so much.

“Jackson, Wyoming is a very wealthy, liberal town in western Wyoming. It has around 9,000 people and has an abortion clinic. My friends have protested outside of that abortion clinic many times in the past few years. My friends just got kicked out of the First Baptist Church in Jackson because the people in that church didn’t like them protesting outside of that abortion clinic. My friends have also been rejected or harassed by a few other Christian churches in Jackson because of their stance against abortion.

“As far as I know, most of the churches in Jackson are fairly worthless. I believe that there are some very powerful principalities in Jackson. Before the Lord can judge the town of Jackson, He has to judge the worthless Christians that live in Jackson.

“I believe the Lord has had me hitchhike through Jackson to intercede against the principalities in that town and to warn Jackson of its wickedness.

“The wickedness of Jackson, Wyoming is the United States in microcosm.”

Psalm 83: 1-5:

“Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.  For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.  They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.  They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.  For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee.”

Psalm 83: 14-18:

“As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;  So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.  Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.  Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.”

A Bombing Mission   18 comments

b1_mk82-e1360685696724

Last night I had a dream.  In the dream, I was somewhere in northern Arizona in the mountains.  Someone in a vehicle picked me up and we drove to this place where we boarded this bomber—it looked like the B1B Bomber.  It was very fast and powerful.

It seemed like we flew all over these mountains.  Then I saw the bombardier pull back this lever and the bomb load was released over our target.  I was with the bombardier in the front of the bomber.  I was amazed at how I could see everything below us—it was beautiful, mountainous area.

Then the bomber landed (I don’t remember landing) and I was in this vehicle and we ended up someplace.

The next scene:  I was with this family that I knew back in Ellensburg, Washington.  He was a pastor of a church and they had six children.  I used to spend a lot of time with them back in 1986-87.  We used to go to a small pentecostal church on the east side of Ellensburg—Bethel Gospel Church.

The pastor and his family weren’t that happy to see me.  They acted polite, but I think they wondered why I was there.  We didn’t shake hands or hug each other.  We made small talk—there was no Christian fellowship whatsoever.

Finally, the wife walked up to me and said, “You were not invited.”

I replied, “That’s true.”

And the dream ended.

I believe this dream means that in my work of intercession, I am taking out Satanic strongholds—strategic strongholds (the bombing mission, the B1B Bomber; the mountainous terrain represents strategic, Satanic strongholds).  When the Lord glorifies my body, the Lord is bombing the hell out of a stronghold:  a Muslim stronghold, a stronghold that hates Judaeo-Christianity (Israel and the United States), a lukewarm Christian stronghold, etc.

The pastor and his family represent a lukewarm Christian stronghold.  I was not welcome in their house.  Too many Christians play church and have lots of head knowledge, but they reject Christ with their lives.

I have said this for years:  if someone ever tries to kill me, it won’t be a radical Muslim, it will be a lukewarm, evangelical Christian.  I see all of these evangelical Christian churches in the United States and we have the devil (Barack Obama) in the White House.  Christian Pharisees are everywhere in this country and they make me vomit!

A.W. Tozer

[4 November 2011]

This is my reply to a comment that was recently made on “A Dream About Egypt” [from my High Plains Drifter blog]:

The spiritual man judges all things. This is not judgmental and arrogant. We are called to judge righteous or spiritual judgment. A Christian that is not spiritual cannot judge spiritual things.

In my Christian walk, many sins have died out in my life. These sins do not beset me anymore—it is an overcoming life that we have in Christ. If people are not overcoming sin in their lives and they say that they have been saved for ten or more years, then I have a real problem with their salvation. It has been a long time since the Lord has convicted me of sin. This is the overcoming power of God in my life. Glory to God in the Highest!

Salvation is just one of many ministries in the Body of Christ. Salvation is not my ministry—unless you take into account that I am trying to save Christians from their milk bottles.

The Lord called me out of the church (church on Sunday) back in 1991. My life has to stand for something. My life would not glorify God if I continued to fellowship with lukewarm Christians when the Lord told me to separate myself from them.

“Come out from among them and be ye separate.”

There is a reason why John the Baptist camped out on the other side of the Jordan River. There is a reason why the Lord has had me hitchhike the highways of America these past 15 years. I meet all kinds of believers and unbelievers every day. Either people will feed off of my life in Christ or else they won’t. My life of obedience to the Lord IS the sermon.

If the Lord shows me judgment on America, then this is what I speak. “My Father works and I work.” I only do what I see my Father do.

A.W. Tozer:

“The fact is that, we are not producing saints. We are making converts to an effete type of Christianity, that bears little resemblance to that of the New Testament. The average so-called Bible Christian of our times is but a shallow display of true sainthood. Yet, we put millions of dollars behind ‘movements’ to perpetuate this lower form of religion and attack the man who dares to challenge the wisdom of it.”

Effete: “having lost character, courage, strength, stamina, or vitality.”

Shiloh
By Tim Shey

Brutal deathdance;
My eyes weep blood.
Pharisees smile like vipers,
They laugh and mock their venom:
Blind snakes leading
The deaf and dumb multitude.

Where are my friends?
The landscape is dry and desolate.
They have stretched my shredded body
On this humiliating tree.

The hands that healed
And the feet that brought good news
They have pierced
With their fierce hatred.

The man-made whip
That opened up my back
Preaches from a proper pulpit.
They sit in comfort:
That vacant-eyed congregation.
The respected, demon-possessed reverend
Forks his tongue
Scratching itchy ears
While Cain bludgeons
Abel into silence.

My flesh in tattered pieces
Clots red and cold and sticks
To the rough-hewn timber
That props up my limp, vertical carcase
Between heaven and earth.
My life drips and puddles
Below my feet,
As I gaze down dizzily
On merciless eyes and dagger teeth.

The chapter-and-versed wolves
Jeer and taunt me.
Their sheepwool clothing
Is stained black with the furious violence
Of their heart of stone.
They worship me in lip service,
But I confess,
I never knew them
(Though they are my creation).

My tongue tastes like ashes:
It sticks to the roof of my mouth.
I am so thirsty.
This famine is too much for me.
The bulls of Bashan have bled me white.
Papa, into your hands
I commend my Spirit.
